Summer Wedding

WOW, the summer has flown by with weddings, graduations, birthday parties, and vacation. First off let's start with a wedding card. I wanted to do a monochromatic wedding card and this is what I came up with. I didn't do any stamping on this card, just die cuts and embossing. I loved how it turned out, hopefully the bride and groom will think so too.

Have a wonderful crafty week,
Mimi

This next one is for my grandmother. She's Swedish and loves bright colors and flowers.

Tiffany Bridal Shower

Last weekend I went to my friend's bridal shower and it was so lovely and lots of fun. Here's the quick card that I made for her. I found this paint swatch in my bin of scrap paper and it was the right colors for the Tiffany themed party! It took me all of a half an hour to put it together - gotta love that!

I also made her homemade bath products. The first is my special blend of Lavendar bath salt with a mix of epsom salt, sea salt, and of course Lavendar essential oil. I also made her a Blueberry Bliss sugar scrub. Turbiando sugar and Blueberry essential oil are the main ingredients along with vitamin E oil, jojoba oil, olive oil, and coconut oil! I designed the labels in Adobe InDesign and printed them on our computer.

Have a fabulous weekend!

Wham-Bam-Kapow Exploding Box Card!

Happy Friday,
Its a gorgeous day in California, then again when is it not. My neighbor's son recently got back from the hospital, I won't go into the details but he is going to be fine. I made this card for him soon after he got home from the hospital along with a huge tray of lasagna for him and his family.

It is a card that literally explodes out of the box! I found the tutorial online - just google exploding box card. My brother J made the prototype and here is my version of it. Super hero powers for one super cool 10-year old. The best part is that it fits in a A2 envelope. It folds down flat so you can slide that card right in and not worry about additional postage!

I blended the background to create the swirly pattern and infused lots of bright colors for added pop! The superhero dog (from Mama Elephant) is too cute and I just had to include it. Glossy accents was used to highlight the shield along with a fun star sequin.

Here is a closeup of the card.

And of course, how it looks when you pull it out of the A2 envelope.

Have a fabulous weekend,
Mimi

Supplies:
Stamps: Mama Elephant Tiny Heroes, My Favorite Things Birdie Brown You're Super, Studio G wood mounted stamps (from Micheal's)

One Happy Baby

Hello! I can't believe its April already. I should be posting bunnies for Easter but instead I am posting a teddy bear. I finally got around to taking some photos of the completed baby blanket, burp cloths, and bib for my newest nephew! The package should be arriving at their home anytime now... I hope they like it.

I just love this flannel fabric that I bought from Joann's Fabrics. So adorable and fun. I hand cut all the letters and bear out of felt and embroidered them onto the blanket. French knots are in the bear's eyes, a small black button for his nose, and a little bit of stuffing just to give him more texture.

Here is a close up of the letters and bear.

Matching burp cloths and bib.

All supplies from Joann's Fabric.

Have a Hoppy Easter weekend!

Beanies for cancer patients

I never know what to say to friends who are going through breast cancer except that I will be there for you no matter what. I do know that I can brighten up their days with some fun hats to wear. My friend Anna actually sent me a photo of herself with the bear beanie when she was at chemo, she said that everyone smiled when she showed up and lifted everyone's spirits!

I also gave her some more girlie beanies for other cancer patients. I hope they like them because I sure had fun making them. Flowers and embroidery always make me happy. I hope they made the ladies happy wearing them.

Supplies for all of the beanies are listed below:
Fleece fabric from Joann's Fabrics
Felt from Joann's Fabrics
Buttons from Micheal's Crafts
DMC embroidery floss

Have a great day!
